This Week in Long Beach
Fourteen homes caught our eye this week, from a $564,999 top floor condo in Alamitos Beach to a Bixby Knolls ranch estate with a pool and outdoor kitchen. We dug into each one so you know what makes it stand out, what it costs per foot, and who it is a great fit for.

This 1947 Los Altos home was remodeled in 2012, and that remodel covered the big systems: copper plumbing, 200 amp electrical, vinyl windows, roof, water heater, and HVAC. Add owned solar and a whole house water filtration system, and the boring, expensive stuff is already handled.
Inside, hardwood runs through the main living areas, with fresh paint and new carpet in the bedrooms and family room. The open layout puts the family room right off the kitchen, which has granite counters and stainless appliances, and a gas fireplace warms things up in the cooler months. The primary suite has a soaking tub and a separate shower, and there is an indoor laundry room.
Out back you get a spa, fruit trees, and an herb garden on a 6,004 sq ft lot, plus a one car garage. Assigned schools include Bixby Elementary, Stanford Middle, and Wilson High. At $710 a foot, it is one of the best values per square foot on this week’s list. Open houses are planned for October 23 through 25.

Unit 605 is in Queen’s Surf, the 1975 high rise sitting right on the sand along Ocean Boulevard. Location is the whole story here. You walk out to the beach and the bike path, and Belmont Shore, downtown, Shoreline Village, and the Pine Avenue restaurants are all a short ride away.
The unit offers 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms across 1,116 sq ft. The building is full service, with a saltwater pool, jacuzzi, sauna, gym, clubhouse, billiards room, onsite management, and controlled access. Several utilities are covered by the HOA, so compare the monthly dues against what you would pay on your own before you decide.
At $795,900, this is one of the more approachable ways to own on the water in Long Beach. Ask about the view from this particular unit, since it makes a big difference in this building.

Built in 1941, this Belmont Park home puts you about as close to the water lifestyle as you can get without paying waterfront prices. Marine Stadium and Alamitos Bay are right there for kayaking and paddleboarding, and Second Street and the Naples canals are a quick walk or bike ride away.
The home was refreshed with new paint and carpet, and it has crown molding, recessed lighting, a pantry, shutters, dual pane windows, and a living room fireplace. All three bedrooms are on the main floor, there is an indoor laundry room, and front and back porches plus a patio give you outdoor space without a big yard to maintain.
The real standout is parking. The listing describes a four car garage plus additional personal spaces, which is almost unheard of this close to the Shore. Confirm the exact setup with the listing agent. Assigned schools include Lowell Elementary, Rogers Middle, and Wilson High.

This 1953 Los Altos home has been completely remodeled with a clean, modern look. The list of new items is long: roof, stucco, windows, electrical, a custom paver driveway, and a brand new central heating and air system.
Inside, the kitchen was redone with quartz counters, both bathrooms were updated, and new flooring runs throughout. The open layout centers on a living room with an electric fireplace, and the 7,396 sq ft lot gives you real backyard space. There is a two car garage with laundry hookups.
Four bedrooms and three baths is a rare count at this price in Los Altos, and the school assignments are a big draw: Prisk Elementary, Stanford Middle, and Millikan High. It is already getting a lot of online attention, so expect a busy weekend. Open houses are Saturday and Sunday, October 24 and 25, from 1 to 4 PM.

This 3 bed, 2 bath single family home sits on a residential street in east Long Beach’s 90808 zip code. With 1,378 sq ft of living space on a 6,298 sq ft lot, it is a classic east side setup: a manageable house with a yard big enough for kids, dogs, a garden, or a future project.
Pricing it at $999,999 is a smart move. A lot of buyers set their search filters at $1M, and homes priced just under that line get seen by the widest pool of buyers. Expect this one to draw a crowd.
At $726 a foot, it is one of the stronger values on this list. The lot is the long term play here, giving you room to expand or add living space down the road, subject to city approval. Reach out and we can pull the full listing details and recent sales on the block.

This 1941 Belmont Park home received roughly $100,000 in renovations in 2018, and it shows. Oak floors, custom built ins, a Dutch front door, KitchenAid appliances, and dual pane windows give it plenty of character without feeling dated.
The best feature might be the large bifold door that opens the living room straight to the backyard. Out there you get an outdoor fireplace, a four person spa, built in seating, turf, and landscape lighting. Inside there is a wood burning fireplace, and the primary bedroom has a double vanity and a workspace.
It is currently 3 beds and 1 bath, but the listing notes provisions for a possible second bathroom. The systems are in good shape, with a 2016 roof, newer HVAC, and a 200 amp panel, plus a two car garage. The listing also mentions a walking easement to private docks. Open houses are October 24 and 25, from 11 AM to 3 PM.

This is a true Bixby Knolls ranch estate, just a few blocks up California Avenue from our office. Built in 1949, the 3,337 sq ft home sits on an elevated 11,746 sq ft lot with mature olive and citrus trees, a fountain, and flagstone walkways.
The backyard is built for entertaining. There is a pool with a Baja step and in water loungers, a spa, a pergola with a fire pit and built in seating, and a full outdoor kitchen with a BBQ, bar seating, a fridge, and a kegerator. Retractable glass doors in the living room and media room open the whole house up to the yard.
Inside, the kitchen has a large island, granite counters, and a six burner Viking range. You also get polished hardwood floors, an office with its own fireplace, a two car garage with storage above, and a large solar array. All four bedrooms are on the main level, which makes it a great fit for multigenerational living. And it is an easy walk to the shops and restaurants on Atlantic.

A top floor 2 bed, 2 bath condo in a small complex on a tree lined street in Alamitos Beach. With no one above you, you get more quiet and more natural light, plus a large private balcony.
The unit was built in 1980 and has been nicely updated: ductless mini split heating and cooling, dual pane windows, shutters, stainless appliances, and both bathrooms redone with quartz counters and black fixtures. There is an in unit stackable washer and dryer, and a one car garage, which is rare in this part of town.
You can walk to the beach, the bike path, and nearby shops and cafes, and downtown, the Aquarium of the Pacific, and the Metro A Line are all close. HOA dues are listed at $300 a month. At $564,999, it is the most affordable home on this list and a strong first home option. Keep an eye out before it officially hits the market.

A 1913 Craftsman about a block from the ocean in Belmont Heights, completely remodeled without losing its charm. The kitchen and both bathrooms are new, with quartz counters and a pantry in the kitchen, plus new wood floors, recessed lighting, and fresh paint throughout.
What makes this one special is the work you cannot see. The foundation was replaced and the home was seismically retrofitted, and it also has a new 200 amp panel, new plumbing and gas lines, new HVAC, and a tankless water heater. For a house this age, that takes a huge amount of risk off the table.
There is also a finished basement of about 350 sq ft with laundry and a flex space for an office or den, which is rare in Long Beach. Out back is a new deck, and the one car garage has been drywalled and fitted with a French door, so it can double as a studio or home gym.

This 3 bed, 2 bath condo sits on Bennett Avenue in the 90803 zip code, a short trip to the beach, Belmont Shore, and the shops along Broadway. At 1,918 sq ft, it lives much more like a house than a typical condo.
At $651 a foot, it has the lowest price per square foot of any home on this week’s list. For buyers who want room for a family or a home office near the coast without taking on a full single family price, that math is hard to beat.
As with any condo, check the HOA dues, the parking setup, and what is shared before you compare it to a single family home. Those details make a big difference at this size, and we are happy to pull them for you.

A 2 bed, 1 bath single family home in the Los Altos area of east Long Beach, with 1,315 sq ft on a 5,987 sq ft lot. Los Altos is known for its quiet residential streets and easy access to Cal State Long Beach and the shopping along Bellflower Boulevard.
The value here is in the land. A nearly 6,000 sq ft lot under $1M leaves you plenty of room to grow, whether that means adding a bedroom and bath later or simply enjoying a big backyard. Any additions would be subject to city approval.
This is a great fit for a first time buyer, a downsizer, or anyone who wants a Los Altos address without stretching past the $1M mark. At $731 a foot, it is priced right in line with the neighborhood.

A 3 bed, 2 bath single family home in Belmont Heights, with 1,214 sq ft on a 4,343 sq ft lot. You are close to the shops and restaurants along Broadway and a short ride to the beach and Belmont Shore.
A 3 bed, 2 bath house under $1M this close to the coast is getting harder to find every year. Belmont Heights gives you the older home character and tree lined streets people love about this side of town, at a lower price point than the Shore.
At $999,000, it sits just under the $1M filter line, so expect strong showing activity. Reach out and we can pull the full listing details, disclosures, and recent sales nearby.

A 2 bed, 1 bath home in Belmont Shore, steps from both the beach and Second Street. With 1,011 sq ft on a 2,354 sq ft lot, it is a smaller home, but that is the trade you make for this kind of location.
At $1,231 a foot, this is the highest price per square foot on this week’s list, and the address is the reason. Living in the Shore means walking to coffee, dinner, the sand, and the bike path without ever moving your car.
Small lots are typical in Belmont Shore, so ask about parking and garage access when you compare homes here. This is a great fit for buyers who care more about lifestyle than square footage.

A 2 bed, 2 bath single family home in the 90803 zip code, with 1,460 sq ft on a 6,990 sq ft lot. You are close to Belmont Shore, Second Street, and the water around Alamitos Bay.
The lot is what stands out. Nearly 7,000 sq ft is a lot of land for this part of Long Beach, where many homes sit on much smaller parcels. That leaves room for outdoor living now and options to expand later, subject to city approval.
At $1,500,000, you are paying for land and location more than the current house size, which is exactly why this one caught our eye. Reach out and we can pull the full listing details and recent sales nearby.
We can set up a private showing, pull comps, or tell you honestly whether the price makes sense. Just reach out.
